What has Happened: This evening, Iran commenced a retaliatory attack on Israel by launching more than 100 drones as well as missiles targeting Israeli government sites. This attack appears to be in line with Iranian doctrine involving “swarm tactics” in an effort to overwhelm Israel’s anti-air defenses. Israeli forces are attempting to intercept the drones/missiles before they arrive and U.S. military assets in the region are also helping defend Israel and are engaging the inbound munitions.
