We couldn’t help but take a swipe at the University of Michigan’s CONsumer CONfidence report (I swear I’m not just bashing on UMich because I have a kid at MSU), this weekend in Data, “Rules,” and Messiness. Taking the already questionable task of getting individuals to guess at inflation expectations and making it even more questionable because of an extreme bias based on political party. The arguably much more useful Federal Reserve Bank of New York’s Median 1-Year Ahead Expected Inflation Rate came in at 3%, which is where it was last month, and where it has basically been since ... Expectations and Fentanyl, Eh?
